Seems Microsoft is not doing so well these days, despite the news propaganda that 'everything is rosy, etc.' And just today, we find that M$ has now been fined 1.4 billion dollars (in Euros) for their illegal activities. Why do schools continue to insist on using this junk?

Well, Dell Canada is now selling laptops with linux pre-installed! :-)

It would seem that in addition to Microsoft's Vista being a disaster, there is also an executive exodus from the company underway. And it is sinking in surveys as a good place to work, etc. One wonders how many millions have been squandered by politicians/governments on this junk software. Follow the links for various details.
And here, on a more positive note, is yet another bank that has moved from Microsoft windows to linux, with several noticeable benefits, of course! :-)

Recent article confirming what is already well known amongst the well-informed: How B. Gates 'philanthropy' is little more than profit driven investment in big pharmaceutical companies, etc. I roll my eyes when I hear the ignorant proclaim how 'wonderful' the millions 'given away' to 'medical research' by his foundation are helping the poor, etc. Here are some examples of how B. Gates is NOT helping people, and in fact may be harming them. Yet, computer illiterate administrators and ministry bureaucrats continue to peddle this junk in schools.

Very good news today! :-) Two MILLION elementary school children are going to get linux based XO computers! :-)
Thank you OLPC! :-)

We've all heard, thanks to MS, B. Gates et al., about how "difficult" linux is for the average user. This is just plain FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt...are you a victim?), as the following article demonstrates. Likewise, the writer feels as I do, that governments, schools, hospitals, etc., should be using Linux. Find out how things are going in your area, (accountability, transparency, etc.), and shake your head at the millions wasted on software by computer illiterate administrators, politicians, etc.

So, are you a victim of the MS propaganda campaign?
