Well, seems the second largest website in France (and 19th in the world!) runs on the freely available open source database MYSQL. And it would seem that linux has taken over the corporate data centers of the world...! :-)

So, as the Ontario Ministry of Education continues to waste millions of dollars on crashing, inaccessible systems, etc., but competent school boards and governments are spending their money on students, while still providing excellent information to students, parents and staff. Take a look at these two example free projects being used in a variety of school systems around the world...and compare with the millions of dollars being spent in Ontario to do the same thing!

Well, there are at least a few capable, competent boards of education in Canada, who aren't spending their budgets sending millions of dollars to one of the world's wealthiest people...:-) Kudos to Kamloops, and may more boards wake up and smell the coffee, or at least correct their mistakes! ;-) And looks like quite a few others in the world are starting to finally take notice! :-) (Take a looks at the list of articles at the end, listing schools in different states, different countries, etc.)
