Here's a nice, current summary of the many, many places linux is being used...and begs the question: "Why isn't linux available and being taught in schools?" In my school district, it is due to the illiterate, corrupt decision makers in the back pockets of a certain large corporation with the initials MS...anyways, read it and weep that students have virtually no opportunity to learn about these systems:
